.NET MF介绍 Introducing the Microsoft? .NET Micro Framework Platform Using only a few hundred kilobytes of RAM and an inexpensive processor, the Microsoft .NET Micro Framework platform allows developers to build applications for the smallest of devices. These devices are typically constrained by cost, memory, processor, and/or power consumption. This platform is currently used in Smart Watches for MSN? Direct, and is planned for Windows Vista? SideShow displays, as well as an upcoming version of Microsoft TV Foundation Edition. Microsoft first publicly announced its Smart Personal Objects Technology (SPOT) initiative more than three years ago with the introduction of the MSN Direct Smart Watch, which uses the Microsoft .NET Micro Framework Platform. This work required a reasonably rich graphical application support on a very inexpensive and power-efficient hardware, but did not require all the features of the existing Microsoft platforms like Microsoft Windows? CE. The result is the .NET Micro Framework. The .NET Micro Framework is a natural extension of our embedded offerings and provides an easy-to-use solution for developers. Though it is used on very small devices, the Microsoft .NET Micro Framework is a managed code environment bringing the efficiency and reliability to the embedded space that managed code provides. In addition, the platform is fully integrated with the Microsoft Visual Studio?, allowing for development using familiar tools even when debugging code running on the target device. In this way, the .NET Micro Framework extends the Microsoft embedded story to a new set of smaller devices. Microsoft .NET Micro Framework at MEDC 2006 Europe If you missed MEDC 2006 in Las Vegas, please join us at MEDC 2006 Europe in Nice, France, June 6-8. Attendees at MEDC 2006 Europe can learn more about the Microsoft .NET Micro Framework by attending the .NET Micro Framework session in the Developing Windows Embedded Devices track. Sumo Robot Competition, Sponsored by Microsoft .NET Micro Framework and Windows Embedded Fresh from MEDC 2006 Las Vegas, the popular Sumo Robot Competition will also be held at MEDC 2006 Europe. Team up with other attendees (3-4 per team) and challenge your development skills to build and code the ultimate Sumo Robot. Teams receive a hardware and software kit, including a pre-release version of the recently announced Microsoft .NET Micro Framework, which allows you to develop and refine your code in C# using Microsoft Visual Studio tools. Robots will compete in the ring during lunch on Thursday. Sign up your team (or be matched with other attendees) and pick up your kit at Booth 6 of the Microsoft Pavilion after the keynote. Note: supplies are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you're planning on participating in the Sumo Robot Competition, be sure to attend the .NET Micro Framework Sumo Robot Lab and be among the first to experience the Microsoft .NET Micro Framework hands-on.
